Why make a connection with Bob Delaney?
One of our offices has been in Ontario for many years, with half a decade of time in our current location. Aside from having fifty team members commute to work at 6750 Century Ave, our participation locally is represented by community efforts such as volunteering at the Eden Food for Change centre last year and encouraging our internal team to get active by walking in Mullett Creek Park for this February’s Heart Month (designated by the Heart & Stroke Foundation).
Who is Bob Delaney and What Value Does Dun & Bradstreet Bring?
Our data-inspired values motivated us to meet with Bob Delaney this past year. Bob is the Member of Provincial Parliament serving the Ontario electoral district of Mississauga-Streetsville, representing Lisgar, Meadowvale and Streetsville. We met to learn more about his leadership and share our business insights.
The Dun & Bradstreet Government team in Canada arranged a meeting with Bob and provided details about the economy with a laser focus on the MPP’s riding of Mississauga-Streetsville.
We are very happy to meaningfully contribute to a neighbourhood we call home. To say the least, we discovered a lot of successes to be proud of in our community. Here are some highlights below as well as Bob’s video addressing the legislature with our findings:
- Since the bottom of the 2008-09 recession, the number of businesses in Lisgar, Meadowvale and Streetsville has grown by 64 percent. This is a testament to the economic strength and future outlook of our area.
- Manufacturing as an industry has grown by more than 44 percent during the past five years, while the rest of Canada’s ridings are all in the 27 to 29 percent range in the same time period.
- Out of about 100,000 people who live in this neighbourhood, there are 26,270 of us in small businesses, with the greatest number of us in micro-businesses at a 31,350 count.
- If you’re looking to hire talent, northwest Mississauga has what you need because our workforce is internationally-experienced and there are many new graduates joining the job market from our neighbourhood schools.
Bob Delaney wrote an entire article describing the findings, including more details on the community’s outstanding successes. Let’s celebrate Mississauga-Streetsville’s results - we’d love it if you read more from his Economic Growth article and let us know what you think.
